The Arthurs Creek Mechanics Institute Hall is operated and maintained by a dedicated group of volunteers who make up our Arthurs Creek Mechanics Institute Inc. Committee of Management. Our group is committed to ensuring that we provide a professional and high quality event space.
Hall Committee volunteers work year-round to maintain the hall, manage bookings and raise funds for continuing upkeep. Volunteers play such an important role in our community and we are always ready to welcome willing helpers – please get in touch with a committee member if you’d like to be involved.
Our Committee members as at 2023 are: Peter Nankervis, President and Heritage Coordinator, Laurie Parker, Vice President and Maintenance Coordinator, Ruth White, Secretary and Events Coordinator, Kerry Barrett Minute Secretary, Lois Stubley Treasurer, Robyn Harris, Gretta Hanson, David Mundy, John Slabon, Claire Hampshire and Bree Dent.

As settlement grew, many orchards developed and as a result, the Arthurs Creek Fruit Growers Association was formed. This group initiated the construction of the Arthurs Creek Mechanics Institute. It was built on land donated by William Murphy and was completed in 1887.
